Business applications for the work no package fits.
Maybe your planning lives in a shared file and your field teams still write their reports in the evening, from notes and photos. We build the business application around that work and connect it to the tools you keep. AI goes where it takes a real task off someone’s desk, and a person approves what it prepares.
Today
- A planning file two people edit at the same time
- Field reports retyped at the office
- Statuses asked by email, then looked up by hand
- One person who knows how the process really works
With your business application
- One screen per role, with the history of every change
- Reports filed from the field, checked before they count
- Statuses visible to whoever needs them
- Rules written into the software, code that belongs to you
Business applications our team has already put in production.
Three real projects. Client names are left out on purpose: you get the sector, the problem and only the figures published at delivery.
Real project, public works: reporting on a tramway construction site
BeforeA multi-year tramway project across 24 municipalities, and no dedicated tool for residents, technical teams and operators to report incidents.
AfterOne geolocated platform, with statuses and each report routed to the right department: 3,000 reports collected during the works, for 650,000 residents.
Real project, international cooperation: a national digital address base
BeforeNo SaaS covered the need, networks in the field were patchy, and the client required full control of the code and the hosting.
AfterA business tool built offline-first and delivered to production, with 100% uptime over the operation, the sources handed over and 3 local developers recruited and trained to run it.
Real project, seasonal leisure: the whole operation tooled
BeforePaper diaries, shared Excel files and cash payments, for a seasonal team that had to hold up evenings and weekends.
AfterTeam planning, online payment, offers and fleet maintenance in one platform, built in waves over 10 years of partnership. The business became the local leader in its segment.
What is business application development?
Business application development is building software for one specific line of work inside a company: scheduling technicians, tracking field reports, managing a fleet or handling requests with statuses. The application follows your own rules and vocabulary, connects to the ERP or CRM you already run, and belongs to you once delivered.
Most companies already run a few of these, grown over the years in spreadsheets, shared drives and email threads. They hold until the business grows or the person who built them leaves. A business application gives the same work a real database, roles for each user and a trace of every change.
We plan AI in from the first screen when it removes work, such as reading the photo of a delivery note or turning a voice memo into a structured report. Every suggestion stays visible and editable, and nothing counts until a person has approved it.
From the first interview to go-live.
Before any build
Watch the work, fix the scope
We sit with the people who do the work, map the data and the exceptions, and show a clickable prototype. You get a written scope and a price fixed before we start building.
During the build
Short cycles you can follow
Each cycle ends with a version your team can try on a test environment. You steer while changes are still cheap.
Before go-live
Real cases, real data
Your team runs the application on real cases. The data from the old files is imported and checked before anyone switches.
After go-live
Run it, or take it back
We host and maintain it, or hand the code and documentation to your team. The next version starts from how people actually use it.
An application your team can rely on, and take back.
Security and dataThe code and the data are yours.
Repository, documentation and deployment scripts are handed over. On the address base above, the client received the sources with a self-hosting guide.
Built for the field when you need it.
Where the network drops, entries are saved on the device and sent once the connection comes back.
Rights by role.
Each person sees and changes only what their job needs, and every change is traced.
Connected to what you keep.
The application reads from and writes to your ERP, CRM or accounting through their APIs, so nobody types the same data twice.
When a package is enough, we say so.
If a standard tool already covers your process, you hear it during the free assessment, with the name of the tool.
Business application, spreadsheet or packaged software, side by side.
Each has its place. What matters is how much of your process it really covers, and who holds the data.
| Criterion | Business application | Spreadsheets and shared files | Packaged software |
|---|---|---|---|
| Follows your process | Built around it | As far as formulas and macros go | You adapt to the package |
| Several people at once | Yes, with roles and history | Version conflicts, overwritten cells | Yes |
| Works on phones in the field | Designed for it, offline if needed | Rarely | Depends on the vendor |
| Connects to ERP and CRM | Through their APIs, both ways | Copy and paste, or exports | Standard connectors, sometimes |
| AI in the workflow | Planned in, on your data, with approval | None | The vendor’s features, if any |
| Who owns code and data | You | You, in files that depend on one person | The vendor hosts, you rent |
| Best for | A process that sets you apart or fits no package | Early days and light use | Standard needs shared by every company |
What the price of a business application depends on.
Where does your business application fall between a planning tool for two roles and a field app with offline mode and mobile apps? The factors listed here decide it, and the scope and the price are fixed in writing before the build starts.
Read the custom software cost guide, with market ranges- 01The number of screens, user roles and business rules.
- 02The systems to connect: ERP, CRM, accounting, single sign-on.
- 03Web only, or mobile and offline use as well.
- 04The data to take over from the old files.
- 05The AI features, and the volume they handle.
- 06Who hosts and maintains the application after launch.
Business applications: the questions buyers ask us
What is the difference between a business application and custom software?
A business application is one kind of custom software: an internal tool built for one line of work, such as planning, field reporting or request handling. Custom software also covers SaaS products, customer portals and rebuilds of older systems.
Can the application work on phones in the field?
Yes. We build it as a web application that works on phones, or as a mobile app when the camera, GPS or offline mode matter. Entries made without a network are saved on the device and sent once the connection returns.
Will it connect to our ERP, CRM or accounting software?
Yes, as long as those tools offer an API or an export. The application reads what it needs and writes back its results, so the same order or customer is never typed twice.
Who owns the application and its data?
You do. The source code, the database, the documentation and the deployment scripts are handed over. You can keep us for maintenance, bring it in-house or give it to another team.
How do you take over the data from our spreadsheets?
We map what each file really holds with the person who knows it, then clean, import and check the data before the switch. When something does not add up, we show it and decide with you.
Where does AI help in a business application?
Where it removes a task someone does by hand: reading a photo or a PDF, drafting a report from a voice memo, sorting incoming requests. The AI prepares, a person approves, and each action leaves a trace.

- Replace Excel When the application starts as a critical spreadsheet.
- Client portal When your customers should see the status themselves.
- Custom ERP When several tools should become one system.
