Custom software development with AI built in from day one.
Half your business may run on a shared spreadsheet, or on a process no package on the market handles. We turn that into software built around the way your team works. The AI is planned into the screens and the data from the first sketch: it fills in what it can read, and your people approve.
- What we build
- Business tools, internal apps, SaaS products and MVPs.
- Where the AI sits
- Inside the workflow, drafting entries and reports that a person approves.
- What you own
- The source code, and the documentation to run it without us.
What is custom software development?
Custom software development is the design and build of software around one organization’s own processes, so the tool follows your team’s work and you own the result. Well-run projects now plan AI in from the start: the software reads the documents that come in and drafts the routine entries, and people keep the final say.
Bespoke software development, as it is often called in the UK, has a reputation for long projects and thick specifications. We start from the work itself instead. A clickable prototype goes in front of the people who will use it early, and the software then ships in short cycles you can follow.
Planning the AI from day one changes the architecture. The data model is designed so a language model can read it safely. On every screen where the AI prepares something, a person has a clear place to correct it before it counts, and each AI action leaves a trace you can audit.
What your team could stop patching together by hand.
Six kinds of projects, two of them told through a real project: client names stay private, and the facts are the ones published at delivery. The AI appears only where it takes a real task off someone’s desk.
The business tool that replaces the spreadsheet
BeforeA shared spreadsheet, a few macros and one person who knows how it all holds together.
AfterA real application with roles and history, where the AI fills in what it can read from emails and documents.
Real project: the offline-first business tool behind a national address base
BeforeNo SaaS covered the need, networks in the field were patchy, and the client required full control of the code and the hosting.
AfterA business tool built offline-first and delivered to production, with 100% uptime over the operation, the sources handed over and 3 local developers recruited and trained to run it.
The customer or partner portal
BeforeCustomers email to ask where their order, file or request stands, and someone looks it up.
AfterA portal that shows the status live and answers questions from your own data, with a person one click away.
The SaaS product
BeforeAn idea proven in a few customers’ hands, running on manual work and goodwill.
AfterA multi-tenant product that bills its customers and keeps their data apart, with AI features they can rely on.
The MVP to test a market
BeforeMonths of debate about features, and no real user to settle them.
AfterA focused first version in real hands, built to learn fast and to grow if the market says yes.
Real project: more than ten applications of an international distribution group
BeforeManagement applications on operating systems and middleware partly out of support, used by subsidiaries in several countries, in operations that could not stop.
AfterModernized in waves, one application at a time, onto supported systems and one unified cloud hosting, while the business kept running.
How your software goes from sketch to production.
Before any build
Understand and prototype
We watch the work, map the data and put a clickable prototype in front of real users. You get a written scope and a fixed price.
Every week
Build and show
A working version on a test environment, shown to you each week. You see it grow and steer it while it is still cheap to change.
Before launch
Test with real users and data
Your team uses it on real cases. The AI features are measured on your own examples before anyone relies on them.
After launch
Keep it running and improving
We host and maintain it, or hand it to your team. Either way, the next version starts from how people actually use it.
Custom software, off-the-shelf package or no-code app: which fits your project?
Sometimes a package or a no-code tool does the job, and we will tell you so. Here is how the three options compare.
| Criterion | Custom software, AI built in | Off-the-shelf software | No-code app builder |
|---|---|---|---|
| Fits your process | Exactly, it is built around it | You adapt to the package | For simple processes |
| AI in the workflow | Designed in, on your data and rules | The vendor’s features, if any | Add-ons, with limited control |
| Who owns the code and data | You | The vendor hosts, you rent | The platform holds the app |
| How costs grow | Build, then hosting and upkeep | Subscription per user or per use | Subscription that grows with usage |
| First version in use | In weeks for a focused tool | Days, if it fits | Days to weeks |
| When you outgrow it | It evolves with you | You wait for the vendor’s roadmap | Often a rebuild |
| Best for | A core process or a product that sets you apart | Standard needs shared by every company | Prototypes and light internal tools |
What the price of custom software depends on.
A three-screen tool on one database costs far less than a multi-tenant product with mobile apps. Six factors decide where your project falls between the two. We fix the scope and the price in writing before development starts, once real users have tried the prototype.
Read the custom software cost guide, with market ranges- 01The number of screens, user roles and business rules.
- 02The systems the software must connect to.
- 03The AI features, and the volume of documents or requests they handle.
- 04Web only, or mobile apps as well.
- 05Security, audit and compliance requirements in your sector.
- 06Who hosts and maintains it after launch.
Software another team could take over tomorrow.
Security and dataThe code is yours.
The repository, the documentation and the deployment scripts are handed over, with no lock-in.
Standard, proven technology.
Mainstream languages and databases, so any competent team can take it over.
Tested at every step.
Automated tests run on every change, and the AI features are checked against your own cases.
Security designed in.
Least access, encrypted data, logs of every sensitive action, EU hosting when you need it.
A person approves what the AI prepares.
Wherever a decision matters, the software shows what the AI prepared and waits for approval.
Custom software development: the questions buyers ask us
How long does custom software development take?
It depends on the scope: a focused business tool can be in production in weeks, and a larger application with several user roles takes longer. Either way, the scope and the price are fixed in writing before development starts, and you watch the software grow at every weekly demo.
Do we own the source code?
Yes. The code, the documentation and everything needed to run the software are yours. You can keep working with us, bring the project in-house or hand it to another team.
Which technologies do you use?
Mainstream, well-supported ones, chosen for your project: typically TypeScript or Python, a proven database such as PostgreSQL, and cloud or on-premise hosting. For the AI, the model that fits your data and constraints, European models included.
Does every project need AI?
No. We add AI where it removes real work or improves a decision, and nowhere else. Every project is still designed so that AI can be added later without rebuilding the foundations.
Can you take over or rebuild an existing application?
Yes. We start with an audit of the code and the data, then decide with you whether to improve it or rebuild it step by step. The old tool keeps running until the new one has proven itself.
What happens after launch?
You choose. We can host, monitor and evolve the software under a support agreement, or train your team and hand it over. Either way, the documentation is written for the people who will maintain it.
Often built together
- AI agents To run whole tasks inside your new software.
- AI integration When the tool you need already exists.
- Document AI When the input is PDFs, scans and forms.
- Private LLM When the AI must run on your servers.
- AI readiness assessment To decide what to build first.
- How to choose an AI agency The questions to ask before you sign.
- Bespoke vs off-the-shelf software When building beats buying, and who owns the code.
