Nearshore software development in your time zone.
Your project needs a team that ships, and the far-away option has cost you weeks of handovers and late-night calls before. We build business software and AI agents from France: the same working day as Berlin or Amsterdam, one hour ahead of London, under the GDPR, with the scope and the price written down before the first line of code.
A distant supplier
- Questions asked at 5 pm, answers the next morning
- A day rate that keeps running while the scope moves
- Your data processed under rules your lawyers have to check
- Code, servers and accounts held by the supplier
Our team, from France
- A shared working day, and demos you attend live
- A written scope and a fixed price before we start
- Data that can stay in the EU, under the GDPR
- Source code, hosting and accounts in your company’s name
What is nearshore software development?
Nearshore software development means handing a software project to a team in a nearby country, close enough to share most of your working day, meet without a long-haul trip and work under similar law, without building the team yourself. For a company in the UK, Germany or the Benelux, a team in France is nearshore: same or next time zone, and the GDPR as common ground.
The word is usually set against offshore, where the team works from another continent and the overlap with your day is short. Offshore can be cheaper per hour, and the hours lost in handovers, rework and delayed answers are rarely counted in the comparison.
Nearshore suppliers sell two different things. Some rent developers by the day, and you manage them. We sell projects: a defined result and a price fixed in writing before we start, run by our team, with you deciding at each demo.
Nearshore, offshore or local: what changes for your project.
The hourly rate is one line of the comparison. These are the others, the ones that decide whether the project lands on time.
| Criterion | Our team in France | Offshore team | Local agency or new hires |
|---|---|---|---|
| Working hours in common | Your full day from Germany or the Benelux, all but one hour from the UK | A few hours, sometimes none | Your full day |
| Meeting in person | A short train ride or flight | A long-haul trip | Easy |
| Data protection | EU company, GDPR applies directly | Contract clauses and transfer checks to set up | Depends on the supplier |
| Price model | Fixed price per project, set in writing before we start | Often a day rate | Day rate, or salaries and recruiting time |
| Who owns the code and accounts | You, from the first day | Varies, to be negotiated | You, if the contract says so |
| Time before work starts | Once the scope is agreed | Once the team is assembled | Once the hires are made |
Projects we have delivered across borders.
Both are real, and both served users outside France. The client names stay private, and the figures are the ones published at delivery.
Real project: a field reporting platform for the tramway works of a European city region
BeforeA multi-year tramway project crossed 24 municipalities, and residents, technical teams and operators had no shared way to report incidents during the works.
AfterOne geolocated reporting platform across the whole city region: 3,000 reports collected during the works, 650,000 residents concerned, statuses tracked for the full duration of the project.
Real project: an international distribution group operating in several countries
BeforeMore than ten management applications on operating systems and middleware partly out of support, used by subsidiaries in several countries, in operations that could not stop.
AfterWorking inside the group IT department’s project team, the applications were modernized in waves, one at a time, onto supported systems and one unified cloud hosting, while the business kept running.

A written scope and a fixed price
What will be built, what will not, and the price, in one document you sign before anything starts.

Short cycles, live demos
Working software shown at each demo, inside your working day. Your team tries it and decides what comes next.
Handover
Everything in your name
Source code, documentation, hosting and accounts handed over, with a maintenance option if you want us to keep it running.
What sets the price of a nearshore project.
Each project gets its own fixed price, written down before we start. It depends on these factors, and the cost guide gives the market ranges with their sources.
Read the custom software cost guide, with market ranges- 01The number of screens, user roles and business rules.
- 02The systems to connect: ERP, CRM, accounting, identity, existing databases.
- 03Whether AI agents or document processing are part of the scope.
- 04Hosting, security and compliance requirements, including your own security review.
- 05Data to import from the current tools, and how clean it is.
What you can check before you sign.
Security and dataYour code, your accounts.
Repositories, cloud accounts and domains are opened in your company’s name, so you are never locked in.
GDPR by default.
An EU company, bound by the GDPR, and your data can stay in the EU, on EU hosting or on your own servers.
One price, written down.
The scope and the price are fixed in writing before we start, so you know what the project will cost before you commit.
People you can meet.
A short train ride or flight from London, Brussels, Amsterdam or Frankfurt, and the same working day.
Nearshore development: the questions buyers ask us
Is France really nearshore for a UK company?
Yes. France is one hour ahead of London all year, so the working days overlap almost entirely, and a meeting in person is a short train ride away. You decide at each demo, in your own working day.
Do you provide dedicated developers or staff augmentation?
No. We take on projects with a defined result and a price fixed in writing before we start, and our team runs them. If you need extra hands managed by your own team lead, a staffing firm is a better fit, and we will say so on the first call.
What kind of software do you build for clients abroad?
Business applications, client portals, custom CRM or ERP modules, SaaS products and MVPs, and AI agents that work inside those tools. Software and AI come from one supplier, so nothing is lost between two contractors.
Who owns the code at the end?
You do. The source code, documentation, hosting and accounts are in your company’s name from the start. You can keep working with us on maintenance, or hand everything to another team without asking our permission.
How is our data protected if we are outside the EU?
We are an EU company, bound by the GDPR, and your data can stay in the EU. If your own rules require hosting in your country or on your own servers, the architecture is designed around that from the first scope.
How do we work together day to day?
A shared chat channel, a demo at the end of each cycle, and written decisions you can find later. When a decision deserves a table, a meeting in person is a short trip away.
